How you can help - Volunteer your time.

We pay travel and lunch expenses if you are able to help us on a regular basis. APO have a variety of volunteering opportunities for people of all backgrounds.
Induction and supervision is provided for all volunteering roles, and we can assist you to develop professional skills that are transferable to paid employment. They may attend workshops or courses, when spaces are available.

Current Volunteering Opportunities

We are currently seeking for volunteers that will support us in our activities. Ability to work with minimum supervision and good verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to maintain confidentiality is required, as is a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You should have either experience / qualifications, or be willing to work towards this.

Heritage Lottey Fund

We are currently recuriting research volunteers to work  on our heritage project.  We have been provided with funding to research into ways which enabled slave trade to come to an end.  This was through the production and export of spices mainly cloves from East Africa mainly Zanizibar.  Please contact our office and the Reserach Coordinator will be able to provide you with the necessary information.  This project will produce a pod cast, an exhibition and a food exhibition next year in Kingston upon Thames.
